Celebrating World Play Day

World Play Day took place on Friday 30 May at the False Bay Sports Ground, Good Hope Compass. Our team was on the go from 5.30am to make our annual World Play Day Picnic  a special experience for learners and ECDs. More than 650 children started arriving at 9am to find a field filled with toys, games, books and more. 

Our health partners provided basic health screening, deworming, dental education and free samples. Metro police did safety displays. Education partners ran interaction stations where children could read and play and learn, and the SISO catering team put together lunches for all the children, while some of our staff offered face painting. 

Parent-Stakeholder Child Protection Dialogue at the community tent was info-rich, empowering and superb, thanks to Socy Ntosh Mthakathi, Socy Nzwakie Nomana and Socy Milisa. 

A huge shout out to our partners who once again generously supported us with books, food, games, stalls and more. We simply could not make this wonderful day happen without you.
