Sikhula Sonke is running a new programme this year called "First 1000 days". This initiative focuses on reaching children (and their caregivers) in the first 1000 days of their lives.
To this end, our team is currently busy with training. The FCM and Emthonjeni outreach fieldworkers are very positive about this programme and enjoying the opportunity to learn, discuss and work through the material with Early Learning Resources' facilitators.
We are very excited to be part of this training and want to thank Early Learning Resources for capacitating our trainers as we prepare to roll out the programme later in the year!
And it's liftoff!
Sikhula Sonke reopened on the 11th and spent most of the day in prayer and planning for staff development trainings. We are now doing internal staff development training for outreach programmes on the Word Works program. The team is very excited about this training.
Next week will be the first "1000 days" training, also for the outreach staff. These developments will contribute enormously towards organizational development and meeting social needs as we deposit into the lives of Kayelitsha's young children.
The team is rested and already on the go - viva 2016!
