Addressing the need for quality early childhood development since 2001

Sikhula Sonke is excited to partner with Wynberg Girls High School with regards to their monthly 'sandwich and fruit' drives, an initiative that is led by Wynberg Girls learners.

Once a month the girls bring bread, spreads and fruit to school and, before their day begins, make and pack sandwiches to be delivered to informal and formal ECDs in Khayelitsha.

Our thanks to Principal Dr Wallace and Wynberg Girls High School learners, and in particular the Service Pillar team who jumped in to meet a need and ensure little tummies get a nutritious lunch.

Talking child safety

3/6/2022

One of the key cornerstones of Child Protection Week is community dialogues. We meet with parents, caregivers, community leaders and welcome anyone who will join us to discuss how "we" (not "you") can create a safe, nurturing environment for our children to grow up.
Topics range from nutrition, health, vaccinations and more to GBV, helplines and more. It takes a village to raise our children, and the village needs to talk to each other in order to work together.
Thank you to the people of Site B, Site C, Khunqu, Mew Way, Monwabisi, Harare, UT Gardens and Enkanini for joining the conversations.
