SISO is celebrating Library Week by visiting Khayelitsha ECD centres that are not exposed to the work of Sikhula Sonke in order to promote and market our Toy Library and stimulate their children to explore new activities offered by Sikhula Sonke. Our library assistants are having lots of fun playing with the children (and their teachers)!
At Sikhula Sonke we believe in the importance of immunising our children against childhood diseases like measles, mumps and rubella. These diseases killed hundreds of children globally in the past. With so many people migrating to the cities, it's important to make sure that we immunise our children so that they don't catch diseases in our communities where illness spreads fast. SISO helps with immunisation campaigns in the areas we work in and reaches out to children who might have working parents unable to get to clinics to do the vaccinations offered by the Department of Health.
