Sikhula Sonke, together with Gcogco Designs and Hiring Studio, a young local entrepreneur, hosted a fundraiser in a form of a fashion show, beauty contest and other entertainment activities including singing and dancing. The public hall in front of our offices was packed to capacity.
A special thank you goes to ECD practitioners from different ECD sites who entered in different categories and made the event a success. Thank you to the principals of the ECDs who also brought their choir to the occasion and sang beautifully. SISO staff never ceases to amaze, thank you. A special thank you to Noluvuyo Makeleni who initiated the idea and organized it from the beginning to the end and thank you to those who assisted her. A special thank you also to Gcogco who gave us her designer outfits free of charge to be showcased at the event. Maz’enethole.

On Women's Day we were so excited to be part of the launch of iNceduluntu Educare, in partnership with Blue Door Early Childhood Education. We wish this new Educare all the best!
Sikhula Sonke continues to advocate for young children and economically-challenged families in Khayelitsha. On Monday Community Chest of the Western Cape, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, delivered baby products to inspire our caregivers and young children in our First 1000 Days FCM program. We are overjoyed to receive baby shampoo, kids handwash lotion, baby bath soaps and boxes of baby wipes. We greatly appreciate partners who are always willing to extend an arm to assist - thank you Johnson & Johnson and Community Chest of the Western Cape!
