After a desk makeover on the inside, our team enjoyed giving the outside of our offices a fresh look too!

Our Emthonjeni informal learning programme facilitated 2253 individual child, parent & caregiver interactions hosted in public spaces around Khayelitsha. Now that's a lot of love and care, right there!
Sikhula Sonke ECD held our annual planning time at the end of last week. The whole team got away for 3 nights to a campsite with beautiful views over Somerset West. It was a great opportunity to reconnect, sum up 2017, focus on 2018 and reconnect, sharing team and individual highs, lows and learnings from the past year. Our communications person came out on Saturday to share on the importance of communicating with our donors and sponsors and friends, and how our stories give an insight into life in Khayelitsha: the challenges and the special moments we get to be part of. Thanks to all who gave their time and energy over 4 very full days! Viva 2018! Sikhula Sonke's Imbiza family and community motivator programme reached out to 183 families, with a total of 3571 personal interactions with caregivers, children and parents in 2017. Thank you to all our sponsors and funders and teams!
What a great partnership to see a multi-disciplinary stakeholder engagement in the name of children’s development.
On Friday, Sikhula Sonke’s read aloud activities together with Nal'ibali saw Nal’ibali providing the story, Sikhula Sonke providing personnel to read stories to children, Harare Hilltop Spar providing nutritious noodles for the event, and most importantly the City of Cape Town providing Health education around Listeriosis and diarrhoea, and distributing vitamin A supplements to children. What a day!!! This campaign benefited ECD centre based children, children in their own homes, children in public spaces, children in Toy libraries and children who were walking with their parents to the shops. Great event indeed, well done to the pioneers and everyone involved! Fabulous furniture! Our SISO offices are looking so chic and glam with some lovely new office furniture. Thank you so much Ms Taylor!
In partnership with Nal'ibali, Sikhula Sonke conducts many "Read Aloud Day" activities in different ECD facilities, public spaces, and children’s parks. Here is one of the kids at A-Section in Monwabisi Park with Nothemba and Paphama during the Read Aloud Campaign we ran last week.
