Today's Emthonjeni Cluster workshop for the Monwabisi Park parents was held in a formal setting at the Toy Library training room. Heads Up facilitators presented attractive and interactive practical sessions that kept caregivers and parents wanting to learn more about head and brain injuries.

 Yesterday's Cluster Workshop at Khunqu was hosted in partnership with Heads Up. Sadly, residents of this community are exposed to many forms of violence every day and Heads Up have had many brain injury referrals from this community. We had a wonderful group of women attend the workshop where the Heads Up team talked about prevention of brain injuries and practical coping strategies for brain injury survivors. We also discussed how to be vigilant and prevent brain injury, especially for children. Community dialogues were held at Site B, Harare, Enkanini, Kunqu and Taiwan. In addition, Sikhula Sonke was interviewed by a local radio station and City of Cape Town set up to provide essential services to the community. Our thanks to all those who worked hard to bring the message of Child Protection across, and especially to our partners in this work. |
