The last FCM playgroup was held at Harare Square on 6 December, with the aim of also raising public awareness around safety of children. Parents and Caregivers enjoyed their closing cluster workshop at the library. Sikhula Sonke gave out Christmas food parcels - we are so encouraged to see the progress made and the effort that these parents and caregivers have put into developing their children this year. Our K2 parents enjoyed the final year-end cluster workshop on Dec 3. In the discussions we learnt that Sikhula Sonke is seen to be a light in the community (we offer the only ECD service in this part of Khayelitsha). This community is mostly made up of young families. We counted 278 households who had children between 0 and 6 years of age; 90% of these children have never been exposed to structured early childhood development learning and play. It is a joy to work with these precious children and great families who so appreciate our team's contributions.
The workshop ended with Christmas packs, courtesy of Sikhula Sonke Board and the team.
