Sikhula Sonke Early Childhood Development staff went against all odds to build a better home for a family of six. The family participates in our Family and Community Motivator program (FCM) and have lived in a deteriorating see-through one-roomed shack for years. Despite their challenging living conditions, they are active and positive contributors to FCM. Sikhula Sonke received a donation of building materials from Upset (group of filming companies) and the Sikhula Sonke team took some time on Mandela Day to build a new home from scratch. To finish off the house, we gave it a nice coat of paint (donated by our partner Joint Aid Management, also known as JAM). Hats off to the amazing work by Sikhula Sonke Team, Ricky, Cheryldene and Thabile from JAM! And heartfelt thanks to Upset for tranforming a shack into a home that is warm, dry and beautiful. CAN YOU HELP? Is it time to upgrade your double bed? Please consider donating your old one to this family! They are also in need of a single bed for their young 2 children. A HOME MAKE OVER IN JUST ONE DAY
